As announced earlier by the Election Commission (EC), the full results will not be released till today. The EC had informed that the results of the local level elections held on May 13 would come by May 19. The commission has instructed the concerned officials to complete the counting of votes as soon as possible as various results could not be obtained till today due to several reasons.
Commission spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel said that the commission has directed concerned officials to complete the counting of votes by mobilizing the maximum number of counting teams.
The results of 570 local bodies have been made public so far. Of them, 174 Mayors, 174 Deputy Mayors, 396 Chairperson, 396 Vice Chairperson, and 396 ward chairpersons have been elected. The commission has stated that 29,303 people have been elected to all the posts across the country so far.
Spokesperson Poudel also informed that the concerned body has been instructed to immediately arrest and take action against those working against the law during the counting process.
