Congress Launches 'Door to Door' election campaign

The Nepali Congress is going to launch a one-month 'Let's go door to door, let's win the Congress' campaign for the local level elections from March 13.

 It was informed at a press conference organized by the party office here today that the campaign has eight different objectives. According to party spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, the campaign aims to create a conducive environment for the voters by appealing to the voters to exercise their democratic rights by participating in the local level elections on May 13.

 The aim of the campaign is to increase harmony, unity and energy within the party up to the ward and toll level to make the Congress party win in the local elections and to appeal to the voters to make the Congress candidate win.

 Similarly, he said that the party ranks would be oriented towards greater mobilization in the local elections by sharing various responsibilities provided in the party's constitution with the policy of 'heavy on every shoulder, responsibility on every hand'. The Congress has a campaign to expose the political and economic achievements of the past under the leadership of the Congress, the anti-people activities, unconstitutional steps and corruption cases during the last three years of the CPN-led government in the past.

 The people will be appealed to be more vigilant against the Corona epidemic by reminding the people that the government has already vaccinated 70 percent of the people in a short period of time by making the Congress-led government the main task. Spokesperson Dr. Mahat informed.

 The current government, under the able leadership of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, the Prime Minister of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the largest grant aid project to date by building a national consensus, aims to dispel misconceptions and misinformation among the people.

Central representatives in all districts

 Congress has stated that the party's central representatives will reach all the districts two days before the start of the campaign. The central representative has been assigned the responsibility of reaching out to all the local levels once and for all for the motivating role to make the ward level program effective before and after the start of the campaign.

 In order to make this first campaign after the formation of the federal structure effective, the seven state working committees of the party will play a leading and important role in their respective states. In order to make the campaign a success, formulate the necessary action plan, share the necessary responsibilities for the implementation of the entire program, play a motivating role and coordinate the necessary programs to make the campaign program systematic, formulate additional programs as required in the campaign. Spokesperson Dr. Mahat informed that the responsibility has been assigned to the state committee to monitor the entire campaign.

Role of District Working Committee in the campaign

 The district working committee has been instructed to hold a meeting of the district committee at least two days before the start of the campaign and decide the action plan centered on all the programs of the campaign. It has been assigned the responsibility of appointing delegates or representative teams to all the wards of the district, organizing district level centralized inauguration ceremonies of the campaign, mobilizing fraternal and benevolent organizations within the party to make the campaign a success.

 In order to make the role of the House of Representatives Regional Committee and the Provincial Assembly Regional Committee effective in the campaign, it has been directed to mobilize with full unity to make the campaign determined by the center widely successful. The responsibility has been assigned to mobilize the office bearers and members of the committee in the respective wards or in different wards as required.

Campaign inauguration centralized, program decentralized

 Spokesperson Dr. Mahat informed that the inauguration ceremony will be held in all the districts at the same time on the same day at 1 pm. The purpose, duration and format of the program will be informed through the inauguration ceremony. The list of representatives deployed at the ward level will be made public at the ceremony and the number of delegates will be deployed in the ward as per the decision of the district committee.

 After the district level inauguration ceremony, the entire program will focus on the local level, including wards and tolls. Similarly, it was informed at the conference that the ward committee formed from the convention will form the complete structure of its committee within the time period of the campaign (performance, department etc.). The remaining toll committees will be formed within the second year of the campaign.

Training program to dispel misconceptions about MCC

 The Congress has stated that it will hold various programs to honor the old leaders of the society, martyrs' families, conflict-era injured, retired teachers, old farmers, new agri-entrepreneurs, writers, former civil servants, sportsmen, businessmen, etc.

 Similarly, training programs will be conducted for MCC to dispel misconceptions and broadcast reality. Analyzing the voters, creating different records of different tolls, preventing the election campaign from going beyond the prescribed code of conduct, and informing the party ranks and the people about the code of conduct in detail.

 The party office has stated that a volunteer structure will be formed during the campaign period according to the concept of 'One Booth Hundred Youth', focusing on the election campaign of the party candidate and booth management on the day of election. The construction of such structure will be led by the ward committee and arrangements will be made for mandatory representation of all tolls in the structure.

 General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Bishwaprakash Sharma, who was present at the press conference, said that suggestions would be sought on what the people want to say and what they expect from the Nepali Congress.

 Explaining the role of fraternal and benevolent organizations in the campaign, he said, "The fraternal and benevolent organizations working in the Central Committee will mobilize their structures across the country by sharing the necessary responsibilities for the campaign." As the new central committee of some fraternal associations is in the process of being formed, before the formation, various levels within the federation will be mobilized in the campaign in coordination with the local party committee. ”

 General Secretary Sharma informed that the fraternal and well-wishers will complete the structure according to the nature of their organization, especially the structure up to the ward level at the local level during the campaign period.

 Congress Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, who was present at the press conference, clarified that no concrete decision has been taken so far with the ruling coalition partners to coordinate the election in the local level elections. He said, "Right now, we are in the election-targeted election campaign. In this campaign, there is no discussion about it. Talking about it right now doesn't make you mature. ”

 Deputy Chairman Khadka said that instructions have been given to the state, district, local and ward levels to form the committee as per the party's constitution.
