In 101 polling stations in 6 different local levels of Banke violence could happen.
According to the District Election Office, Banke, 35 out of 136 polling stations in the district are sensitive. Chief District Officer Surya Bahadur Khatri said, "We have identified those who are likely to have debates, scuffles or booth capture and take the polling stations sensitive." He said that the security arrangements would be strengthened by classifying the sensitive and highly sensitive areas and the polling stations would be managed internally.
Meanwhile, the District Security Committee has started monitoring various local level polling stations for the local level election. According to Khatri, 14 polling stations in Kohalpur Municipality and eight in Khajura Village Municipality have been monitored. He said that some of the polling stations had no walls, were cracked and some of them would be repaired.
In the local election of 2074 BS, there were two lakh 46 thousand 103 voters in the district and this year there are a total of three lakh 29 thousand 473 voters. There are 379 polling stations in the district. Information Officer at the District Election Office, Yubaraj Pant, informed that 52 polling stations have been added due to the increase in the number of voters.
Relief to the family of the fire victim
Relief has been provided to the families of the fire victims in Narainapur village municipality of Banke today. Khatri informed that Rs. 15,000 per family and blankets were distributed from the Disaster Management Fund. He said that the Nepal Red Cross Society had rented a set and the village municipality had distributed food. Sixteen houses were destroyed by fire on Monday afternoon.
