According to the District Administration Office, Sunsari, 44 polling stations are highly sensitive for the local elections to be held on May 13. Out of the total 166 polling stations in the district, 44 polling stations are highly sensitive, 80 are sensitive and the rest are normal, said Sunsari Chief District Officer Indradev.
He said that the plan was to deploy more security personnel in the most sensitive polling stations than in other places. He said that a temporary team of Maadi and Janpath Police would be deployed in the first constituency, Armed Police Force and Janpath Police in the second constituency and Nepal Army in the outer constituency. In addition, they will be deployed from the National Investigation Department.
Yadav said that they have started monitoring the polling station in Sunsari as the date of local elections is approaching. Ajay Mishra, information officer at the District Election Office, Sunsari, said that polling stations in the southern region including Koshi and Bhokraha Narasimha of Sunsari have been monitored.
