Minister for Forest and Environment Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has said that the country can be made prosperous by conserving and managing the vegetation available in Nepal. Speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the Department of Vegetation and the 23rd Vegetation Day, Minister Yadav said that a decent income could be earned by conserving medicinal plants.
Stating that the demand for herbs in Nepal is sufficient even abroad, Minister Yadav said that they should be protected. Minister Yadav honored Prof. Dr. Krishna Kumar Shrestha with the National Botanical Award for his special contribution to the protection and promotion of flora in Nepal.
