U-23 National Volleyball: Two players selected from Gandaki

Two players from Gandaki province have been selected for the U-23 national team for the 'Bangabandhu Asian U-23 Central Asian Zone International Men's Volleyball Tournament' to be held in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

Ravi KC from Baglung and Bhimraj Gurung from Syangja has been selected for the 14-member U-23 team announced by the Nepali Volleyball Association. Twenty-two-year-old KC is the open spiker and Gurung is the libero.

The team will participate on behalf of Nepal in the competition which will be held from the 5th to the 11th of December. According to the association, the final selection of 14 players was made based on their excellent performance in a one-month closed training out of 20 players who were selected in the open selection from across the country.

For the first time in the history of volleyball, Nepal is going to participate in an international competition by preparing the U-23 national team. Along with KC and Gurung, Dhiraj Kumar Basnet, Santosh Khatri, Arjun Nepali, Rup Bahadur Garau, Vishnu Basnet, Safal Vic, Santosh Mahatta, Manish Manandhar, Hemant Malla, Bedprakash Joshi, Samrat Bhandari, and Gaurav Pandey are in the team.

KC from Galkot Municipality-7 Malm is a rising talent in volleyball. With his inclusion in the U-23 national team, his playing career has reached a new stage. KC said that the dream of playing in an international tournament for the country is about to come true.

"I thought that I would be in the team, and I worked hard accordingly, I am happy to be selected", he said. KC is a player who has shined in volleyball in a short time. He made his debut in the national level competition at the NVA Cup held in Kathmandu two years ago.

Ravi from Galkot Sports Club won the hearts of many by playing excellently in the tournament. After that, he played for Gandaki province in the recently concluded 9th National Games through the 'Tiger Cup'. President of the District Volleyball Association Baglung, Yogesh Bhandari, said that KC excelled in sports skills and discipline.
