Ngima Nuru Sherpa has successfully climbed the world's highest peak Mount Everest 24 times now.
He ascended Everest at a height of 7,900 meters in the year 2000. Then in 2001, he was able to reach the peak for the very first time. After that, Sherpa, gradually achieved success to summit Everest every year.
In 2022, he last climbed Mount Everest two times in the same season on May 16 and May 21, 2022, which was a great achievement.
Ngima Nuru was actually planning to climb Everest in this year's spring season and accordingly had traveled to the Everest Base Camp, after climbing Mount Lobuche with a foreign team. But after hearing the sad and unfortunate news about his younger brother, Pemba Chiri Sherpa, his nephew, Lakpa Rita Sherpa, and a relative, Daba Chiri Sherpa, being lost somewhere in the mountains, while returning to the base camp after their rope fixing work on Everest, to deliver the ropes on Camp 2 was accomplished. They met with an accident in the risky (Khumbu) icefall area of Mount Everest. The bodies were nowhere to be found even after a search. After losing his family members, Ngima Nuru then gave up his plan to climb Everest this year.
After going through everything, Sherpa had to convince his parents back home at Theso in Namche, Solukhumbu.
Ngima Nuru Sherpa also lost his brother, Chhewang Nigma, while climbing Baruntse Mountain in 2010, whose body has not yet been found. His brother was also able to climb Mount Everest nineteen times.
Sherpa has not been able to think straight about how to move forward in life. He is not in a good position to say what his future plans are.
He has expressed the view and came to the understanding that the government should provide adequate support to the families who have lost their members in the mountains.
Apart from this, Ngima Nuru Sherpa has climbed the mountains three times in Choyu and Sisapangma and also has successfully ascended other small mountains.
