Sunar Gurung, Nepal's first international mountaineering guide, has been appointed as the coordinator of the Training and Mountaineering Campaign Committee of the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). The association has selected Gurung as the head of training.
Ang Norbu Sherpa has been elected as coordinator of the committee while Dawa Yangjum Sherpa, Sanjeev Gurung, Pasang Lama, Dawa Tashi Sherpa, Ramkaji Tiwari, Binayak Jay Malla and Hare Ram Khadka have been elected as members.
Gurung is the founding vice president of the Nepal National Mountaineering Guides Association. Earlier, he also served as the coordinator of the Civil Service Everest Climbing Expedition He also served on the sub-committee on the development of mountain training curriculum.
