The President of the National Assembly, Ganesh Prasad Timilsina inaugurated the 12th Nepal Festival in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. He further requested to organize such programs in the future.
Takehiro Kano, Director General of Southeast and Southwest Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, said that the Nepali community has made an important contribution to the development of Japan.
Ambika Joshi, Acting Ambassador of Nepal to Japan, also expressed her gratitude for participating in the difficult time of hot summer and high risk of infection of Covid-19.
In the festival, songs and dances reflecting Nepalese traditions and culture were presented. A large number of Japanese and Nepalese audiences were present to attend the festival.
The diplomatic relationship between Nepal and Japan was established since 1956. Now, more than 100,000 Nepalese people live in Japan.
Moreover, its already been 120 years, since students from Nepal fly to Japan, for education.
