Nepal's one of the leading airline company, Yeti Airlines, has completed 24 years of service. Although permission for commercial flights was obtained from the then Department of Civil Aviation in May 1998, Yeti Airlines made its first flight on September 21, 1998, and still celebrates the day of its first flight every year as an annual celebration.
This airline, which has made a significant contribution to the development of air services in Nepal, was started with 2 twin-engine aircraft. During the journey of 24 years, Yeti Airlines has the experience of flying the most and most types of aircraft in Nepal. On this trip, more than 40 aircrafts such as DHC-6 300 TwinOtter, Dornier 220, Y-12, EMB-110, EMB-120, Saab-340B, Jetstream J-41, DHC-6 400 TwinOtter and ATR-72 500 were brought to Nepal.
Over the years, Yeti airline has served 1 million 5 thousand 600 surface passengers through 15,925 flights, 27,663 foreign tourists and 154 thousand 287 cargo with air hours 9 thousand 465 hours.
Yeti, which has added one aircraft recently, currently has 6 ATR aircraft and plans to bring one more aircraft this year.
