The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index has broken another record reaching its highest ever peak today. The benchmark index rose by 54.31 points to land at 3,058.63 points today, which is the first trading day of the week.
Similarly, the sensitive index expanded by 2.09 per cent or 11.74 points to close the day at 574.02 points and the float index increased by 2.15 per cent or 4.52 points to 214.69 points.
A total of 43,939,212 shares of 223 listed firms were traded today through 139,340 transactions at the sole secondary market of the country. The total turnover today stood at more than Rs 14.23 billion.
Besides hotels and tourism, and mutual fund sub-indices all the other subgroups at Nepse witnessed gains today. The bigger gainer of the day was the banking sub-index which increased by 3.43 per cent or 72.14 points to close the day at 2,175.14 points. It was followed by the hydropower subgroup which saw an increment of 2.39 per cent or 71.6 points to rest at 3,068.94 points.
