NEPSE index drops by double digits to settle at 2,643.93

KATHMANDU:  The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has seen a double-digit decline on the first trading day of this week. Today, the NEPSE index fell by 10.41 points to settle at 2,643.93.

According to NEPSE, 15.72 million 367 shares of 318 companies were bought and sold 94,813 times, resulting in a turnover of Rs 9.12 billion 8.673 million 514.

Today, the development bank group increased by 0.59, hydropower by 0.54, microfinance by 0.75, mutual fund by 0.48 and other groups by 0.03 percent, while all other sub-indices decreased.

The finance group decreased the most by 4.76 percent. Similarly, banking 0.89, hotel and tourism 0.27, investment 0.50, life insurance 0.61, production and processing 1.66, non-life insurance 0.67 and trade group 0.75 percent decreased.

The share price of Upkar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Upper Mailung Khola Hydropower Limited has entered a positive circuit, while the share price of four companies has entered a negative circuit. The share price of Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) Limited, NIC Acio Deventure 082/83, Dolti Power Company Limited and Janaki Finance Company Limited has entered a negative circuit.

In terms of transaction amount, Saptakoshi Development Bank Limited has the highest transaction today with Rs 395.373 million. In terms of the number of shares traded, Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited has traded 411,627 shares.
