A 'Command and Staff Training' involving 92 officers including nine foreign student officers has started at the Nepal Army Military Command and Staff College in Shivpuri.
According to the Military Public Relations and Information Directorate, eighty people, including three women officers of the Nepal Army, one each from Nepal Police, Armed Police Force Nepal and National Investigation Department, and one each from Sri Lanka, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Bangladesh, UK, India, Maldives, and the USA are involved in the training.
The training, which is considered important to develop the leadership capacity of middle-level officers, has so far trained 10,040 trainee officers from the Army, 99 from abroad, 13 from the Nepal Police, 25 from the Armed Police Force, 16 from the National Investigation Department and one from the Ministry of Defense.
Inaugurating the one-year training on Monday, official Rathi Bal Krishna Karki said that the training would prove to be important for leadership development. The training has been considered mandatory for top-level officers of the security forces including the army.
