Dr. Silwal is now the chairman of Bagmati province

The second convention of the Bagmati Pradesh Committee of the Progressive Writers' Association of Nepal held today has unanimously selected a new 21-member working committee under the chairmanship of Dr Hari Prasad Silwal.

 Bairagi Jetha, Radhika Gelal, Sundar Shirish, Bhishma Joshi and Bhairavi Dhungana have been elected as vice-chairmen, secretary, joint secretary and treasurer of the committee respectively. Dil Poudel, Saroj Ghimire, Prabhati Kiran, Rajeshwari Shilpakar, Chhabi Khanal, Sugita Shah, Pradip Dhakal, DB Bartaula, Agib Banepali, Yamuna Pradhanang, Keshav Prasad Neupane, Lila Raj Dahal, Sushila Sharma, Deep Sagar Pant and Himan Bal have been selected as members. Subordinate district chairpersons will be ex-officio members of the committee. The new working committee was congratulated by the advisors of the association Matrika Pokhrel, Vasudev Adhikari, Keshav Subedi, Vice President Gopiraman Upadhyaya and others. Newly elected chairperson Dr Silval expressed his commitment to work actively by streamlining the ideas and principles of the association.

 The convention was inaugurated by Central Secretary General Sameer Singh and a praesidium was formed under the chairmanship of Central Deputy Secretary-General RC Neupane to conduct the closed session. The convention passed the organizational report presented by the outgoing chairperson Jagat Regmi. State and district conferences are being held after the 12th National General Convention of PRLES is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu on April 9 and 10.
