International art exhibition to be held in KTM

An international art exhibition has been organized in the capital under the Artshala Kala Kendra of Bangladesh.

A group of artists belonging to Bangladeshi Artshala Center had come to Nepal three days ago for the purpose. The Center in cahoots with the Department of Art and Culture of the Girija Prasad Koirala Foundation has presented artworks at Thamel-based Mithila Yain Art Gallery since Wednesday.

On the occasion, the artworks by 50 Bangladeshi artists and Nepal's senior artists, Shyam Sundar Yadav and Sijon Pokharel, were displayed in the exhibition.

Likewise, the exhibition has also showcased the artworks of British artist Nausin Farjana and Danish artist Susana Herenssinimi.

Hobigunj Charukhola Academy Director and Artshala Operator Ashish Acharya shared that the Artshala has exhibited international-level art for the first time in Nepal. The art exhibition he claimed has further strengthened the relations between Nepal and Bangladesh.

He said it was also a matter of happiness for the Bangladeshi artists to exhibit their artistic creation in culturally and naturally beautiful Nepal.

Chief of GP Koirala Foundation's Department of Art and Culture Shyam Sundar Yadav said the Foundation has been connecting the artists across the globe.

The Mithila Yain Art Gallery which has been operational for the past 17 years has hosted over 300 national and international art exhibitions.

The art exhibition would conclude on Friday.
