Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his commitment to developing Tilganga Eye Center as a standard university.
Tilganga Eye Center Director Dr. Sanduk Ruit expressed interest in this matter during his meeting with Prime Minister Prachanda.
During the meeting, Prime Minister congratulated Dr. Ruit for receiving the 'Isa Award' recently given by the Bahrain government. “This award has increased the respect of the country. It has given a message that there is skilled manpower of international level in Nepal," he said, "Your contribution to humanitarian services is appreciated by the country."
Prime Minister also promised to provide all other necessary support from the government for eye treatment.
During the meeting, Dr. Ruit said that Nepal has worked as a model in the field of eye treatment and discussed the possibility of producing medicine for cataract treatment in Nepal.
