Gahana Pokhari (Jewelry Pond) in Kathmandu is a spot for celebration every year where local people carry the chariot of Tundaldevi on their shoulders and search for her lost jewelry. The chariot is stopped several times on the way to Gahana Pokhari at the doorsteps of residences where red mud has been painted in front. The idol of the Goddess is placed on a chariot pulled by devotees from her temple in Baluwatar and driven through the historic town of Hadigaun on the main day of the procession.
