Minister for Health and Population, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, has underlined the need of primary prevention of diseases when medical healthcare services are becoming unaffordable.
He advised public to practice Yoga and seek naturopathy for the primary prevention of diseases.
While inaugurating the Yoga and Naturopathy Building built by the Kathmandu University at Dhukikhle of Panaut-5 on the occasion of the ninth International Yoga Day today, he said, "Medical care is becoming expensive and in this context, it is better to focus on the prevention of diseases."
As he said, naturopathy could be a great help to live us a healthy life and its significance needs to be explored fully.
"The first condition of healthy life is that one should stay away for taking illness. At least an hour each should be allocated for personal fitness such as Yoga," he asserted.
The Health Minister took time to say that he had already directed hospitals to allocate 10 percent of beds for free treatment of incident and needy community. He also shared about the government plan to build a trauma centre at Dhulikhel Hospital.
