Today's meeting of the National Assembly unanimously passed the 'Monitoring and Evaluation Bill, 2020'. On behalf of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma presented a proposal to discuss the Bill along with the report of the Legislation Management Committee. Regarding the proposal, MP Khimlal Devkota said that this bill is positive and said that the role of local and state governments should also be clear in it. He emphasized that in order to make all types of projects effective, there should be arrangements for monitoring by all three levels of government, and provisions should be made in the bill. Responding to the query raised by MP Devkota, Minister Sharma said that the government has moved forward with this bill, addressing our concern that the expected benefits could not be achieved due to the failure of effective approval and evaluation of development projects.
In the same meeting, the 'Archives Protection 9 First Amendment 0 Bill, 2021' was unanimously passed. On behalf of the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kiranti, Minister Sharma submitted a proposal to pass the bill. Today's meeting unanimously passed the 'Food Hygiene and Quality Bill, 2021'. Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Jwalakumari Sah submitted a proposal to pass the bill along with the report of the Legislative Management Committee. The next meeting of the National Assembly will be held at 5 o'clock on Friday, January 27.
