COVID vaccines at home for senior citizens

Namobuddha Municipality has been providing COVID vaccines to the senior citizens at their homes.

One hundred and two-year-old Amantinath Humagain from Namobuddha-8 got the second dose vaccine at his home on Monday. "I'm very happy today, I thank municipality very much," he responded.

The team of health workers mobilized by the municipality reached each home to administer the vaccine to the elderly people. On the occasion, municipality Mayor Tanka Prasad Timalsina handed over the vaccine card to Humagain. Mayor Timalsina is busy taking the team of health workers to the senior citizens' residences. It has been informed that there are 1,707 citizens above 65 years in the municipality. There are vaccine centres at 11 wards in the municipality where the people are provided masks, sanitizers and immunity boosters. Meanwhile, number of people suffering from COVID-19 has increased lately in isolation centres of ward no 4 in Namobuddha Municipality.

Currently, there are 14 COVID-19 patients at the isolation centre run jointly by Namobuddha Municipality and Roshi Rural Municipality, said centre's chief Mathura Satyal. On Monday alone, Kavre district recorded the coronavirus infection among 75 people, according to District Health Office.
