Minister for Finance Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has expressed confidence that the existing problems would be resolved with the country's economy heading towards the right path.
Inaugurating the regional conference of the Nepali Congress (NC), Chitwan constituency-1 on Friday, Minister Mahat urged all not to get panicked as the economy was gradually taking the right shape.
"Rays of hope are being seen in the economy. The economic crisis prevailing in the country would not exist for longer", he added.
Noting that the government has come up with a policy plan to avert the current economic crisis, he said, "The government has put efforts to make priority-based investment, bring procedural reforms in land transactions and enable environment for business investment:, the minister further said.
Dr Mahat, also the spokesperson of the Nepali Congress, claimed that the economic problems have emerged due to haphazard spending tendencies of the erstwhile government.
"The prevailing crisis would be averted if individuals do not make unnecessary expenses, entrepreneurs do not invest wishfully and the government makes prioritized investment", Dr Mahat noted.
Also speaking on the occasion were NC central members Tek Prasad Gurung and Kiran Poudel, district President Rajeswor Khanal, former President Jeet Narayan Shrestha and Bagmati province health minister Uttam Joshi.
