Minister for Communications and Information Technology and CPN (Maoist Centre) Standing Committee member Rekha Sharma has directed the party cadres to effectively deliver on the agendas and issues related to the people's lives.
While meeting with party cadres of Galchi Rural Municipality and Dhunibeshi Municipality in Dhading district today, Minister Sharma said, "We are holding the reign of government at present. We are leading the government in Bagmati Province and a few other provinces besides leading at many local levels. People, at this stage, have a lot of expectations from us."
According to Narendra KC, press coordinator of Minister Sharma, the Minister viewed that the local level cadres and leaders had a major role in conveying the voices of the people to the party and government. Thus, cadres and leaders should work selflessly and with a sense of service to take it forward effectively.
"We are engaged in politics rising over our interests just to bring about positive changes in the lives of people. Many of our friends became martyrs during this course. Whatever responsibility we have been entrusted with, we should move ahead keeping dreams and sentiments of people at the center stage," press coordinator KC quoted Minister Sharma as saying.
Furthermore, the Minister opined that lately there were attacks on her party and party leadership since some works relating to the peace process were remaining to be carried out.
Towards this, the Minister assured that the incumbent government was working towards giving completion of the peace process at the earliest. She urged party cadres not to be discouraged by such attacks coming from various quarters and assured that her party and leadership will move ahead more strongly.
On the occasion, CPN (Maoist Centre) Dhunbesi municipality chairman Raj Kumar Pathak briefed Minister Sharma about the party's activities at the local level and said that party's position in Dhading was getting stronger.---
