International Relations Committee of the House of Representatives has ruled the decision to halt the construction of the Nijgadh International Airport project not appropriate.
The committee concludes that stopping the construction of the Airport could further hurt Nepal's economy. After the Supreme Court overturned the government's decision to build an airport in Nijgadh and ordered to look for alternatives, this issue is being commented on from many angles.
The annual report of the committee also mentions that the government has been directed to take necessary legal, administrative and practical work to move ahead with the construction of the Airport.
Committee chairperson Pavitra Niraula Kharel said that the annual report passed by the committee will be submitted to the House of Representatives soon. "We will present some linguistic issues in the report to the House soon," said Kharel.
