The Bhaktapur Multipurpose Campus has been locked by the Nepal Revolutionary Students Association Bhaktapur Multipurpose Campus Unit Committee for taking more than the prescribed fee. The students' union, which is close to the Nepal Mazdur Kisan Party (NMKP), has locked the rooms of the campus head and the accounting department, presenting a demand of 12 points including refund of higher fees and reduction of fees.
According to Umesh Shahi, co-coordinator of the association, the campus management committee has fixed the fee of BSC CSIT at Rs. 3,25,900 but the fees has increased by Rs. 9,100. In a press release issued by the campus, the student union protested against the campus charging arbitrary fees from the students and saying that the campus head had appointed the staff voluntarily.
