Malaysia to offer Nepalese people job at zero cost

While Nepalese youth are forced to spend millions for foreign employment, a company in Malaysia has made an agreement to take Nepali workers at zero cost.

Malaysian company Maitech and Assembly Sdn Bhd has entered into an agreement with Kathmandu-based White Horse Recruitment Pvt Ltd to hire Nepali workers at zero cost.

The agreement was signed by Human Resources Director Michael Lee on behalf of Mitech and Chief Rajan Shrestha on behalf of White Horse. According to the agreement, the Nepali workers going to Mitech company will be able to go to Malaysia at zero cost through the Manpower company. The company has announced that it will hire 1,000 workers in the first phase. The director of the company, Michael Lee, said that an additional 1,000 workers will be hired in the second phase. He said that the company will bear all the expenses of the selected Nepali workers going to Malaysia. The company will bear all the expenses such as air tickets, passports, transportation expenses, hotel expenses to Kathmandu, health examination, foreign employment insurance etc.

The company is affiliated to 'Responsible Business Alliance' (RBA). RBA ensures that migrant workers can get employment at zero cost. Lee, the director of the company, said that according to the guidelines of RBA and International Labor Organization (ILO), workers will be taken from Nepal at zero cost.

He informed that Nepali workers will get a minimum wage of 1,500 Malaysian ringgit as well as additional allowances and annual leave. Nepali workers will get benefits according to Malaysian labor laws.

Sagar Giri, president of White Horse, said that the company is working with the goal of creating a model manpower to send workers at zero cost. He said that there is no agent in his manpower and workers will be sent according to ILO's fair recruitment criteria.
