The Nepal Police has made it clear that an investigation has been started against Senior Deputy Inspector Tanka Karki, who is assigned to Home Minister Balkrishna Khand's 'Security Group'.
For a few days now, the police have said that serious attention has been drawn to the news of 'the involvement of PSO Tanka Karki, who is assigned to protect the home minister, with gold smugglers' in the print media and online.
The Central Police Spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General of Police Tek Prasad Rai issued a statement today and said that Karki has been transferred to the Police Headquarters Supervision and Monitoring Division and investigation is underway.
"After investigation, if he is found guilty, I also request action to be taken according to the law", stated in the statement issued by Rai.
