The number of Nepalese workers going abroad for employment has decreased since last month. The number of people seeking work permit has decreased by 1000 as compared to January.
According to the Department of Foreign Employment, 53,457 people have received labor approval to go abroad. The average number of people going for foreign employment was around 2,000 in December last year and 2,500 in November. In January, 66,625 workers had obtained labor permits for foreign employment, while in February, 74,354 Nepalese workers had gone abroad for foreign employment.
Now, the number of Nepalese going to the Gulf countries Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE is very high. Nepalese are also going to Kuwait, Oman and other countries. As the demand has started coming from Malaysia, now the number of Nepalese living abroad is expected to increase.
