A pangolin has been rescued from Arughat of Gorkha district. The pangolin was rescued from the Arughat bridge in Ward-9, informed Forest Division Information Officer, Mahesh Poudel.
Joint security personnel deployed from the Forest Division Office and Area Police Office rescued the pangolin after getting information from local residents.
The rescued pangolin has been set free in the Gorkha Municipality-8 based Ludi Damgade Community Forest Area, said Information Officer Poudel.
The community forest area is a suitable habitat for the pangolin, informed Poudel. Pangolins have been found from time to time in Gorkha Municipality area but this is the first time a pangolin was noticed in Arughat area, according to the Forest Office.
He said that the pangolin is included in the list of protected wildlife in the National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act.
