Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the five parties forged the ruling alliance to safeguard democracy and the constitution.

Addressing an election rally in his hometown Ganyapdhura on Friday, Deuba claimed that the ruling alliance of five parties would win majority seats in the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and provincial assemblies.

The ruling alliance was for the cause of all classes, ethnic groups, geographies, and suppressed people, PM Deuba said, appealing to the people to cast votes for the candidates of the five-party alliance. There is no lasting foe and friend in politics, he commented.

On the occasion, PM Deuba said the judiciary should be independent and the interference and allegations on the judiciary should be stopped.

He accused UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli of plotting to weaken the judiciary and constitution during his premiership and stated that the Deuba administration had created an environment for an independent judiciary.

Deuba further reminded that the constitution was drafted in line with the spirit of democracy and the people’s mandate so that no prime minister could dissolve the parliament.

Sharing that diplomatic efforts were on to claim Nepal’s encroached lands through mutual talks, PM Deuba said that disputes on Limpiyadhura, Lipulek, Kalapani, and other lands would be resolved through diplomatic dealings.

Similarly, Deuba said he was committed to the development of Sudurpaschim and Dadeldhura district, and processes were advanced for the construction of a medical college in the Dadeldhura district.

Prime Minister Deuba is scheduled to attend election programs at Bhadrapur of Ajaymeru and Rupal of Bageshwor on Saturday while at Godam of Alital and Jogbudha of Parshuram on Sunday.
