KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has been transferred to Pokhara after giving his statement in the Sano Paila Cooperative fraud case in Birgunj, Parsa.
Lamichhane was flown to Pokhara via Kathmandu. Previously, he had been brought to Kathmandu from Simara, Bara, before being sent to Pokhara.
On Tuesday, Parsa Police recorded his statement in the presence of Bholanath Niraula, the Chief of the District Government Attorney's Office.
Lamichhane was flown from Pokhara to Birgunj on Monday for investigation in the same fraud case.
He is under investigation for his involvement in five cooperative fraud cases, organized crime, and money laundering offenses.
Chhabilal Joshi, a former DIG and Lamichhane's business partner, is also being investigated in relation to the case.
On Sunday, the District Court in Kaski extended the remand for both Lamichhane and Banjade by four days. They are expected to be presented in court again on Thursday.
