Registration of women in land ownership increases

The number of land transfers in the name of women has increased in the district as the state has given 25 percent revenue discount to women in the purchase and sale of land compared to men.

This was seen while studying the statistics of Land Reforms and Land Port Office Bhadrapur for the financial year 2078/79. During the period of one year, Rs 51 crore 42 lakh 1 thousand 513 revenue concessions have been given for land transfer in the name of 11 thousand 679 women.

In the previous year, Rs 39 crore 21 lakh eight thousand 426 revenue was given to women who passed 7 thousand 61 letters. Compared to the previous year, the revenue discount has increased last year. According to the buyer of the office, Gyanendra Prasad Bhandari, Dalits in urban and rural areas have been given Rs 10 lakh 22 thousand 177, Martyrs' families 11 thousand 650 and Rs 23 thousand 442 to the five who passed the letter in the joint name of husband and wife.

According to him, the office gives up to 25 percent discount to disabled, women and Dalits and 35 percent to single women on the basis of ID card. From this office, 10 local level lands of Maipur in Jhapa are passed for purchase and sale.

The office has collected revenue of Rs 83 crore 28 lakh nine thousand 831 in the last fiscal year 2078-79.
