Ruling alliance’s meeting begins

The meeting of the ruling alliance has kicked off recently at Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar.

The PM’s secretariat informed that the meeting would discuss the issues as contemporary politics, forthcoming budget, policy and programmes.

The meeting is attended by PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, leaders Dev Prasad Gurung, and Shakti Basnet from CPN (Maoist Centre), while Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka and NC Vice President Dhanraj Gurung. Also attending the meeting are Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal; General Secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal, Chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal, Upendra Yadav; leader Rajendra Shrestha, and Chairman of Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, Mahanth Thakur, among others.

In a bid to forge consensus on formation of a new government, a meeting of the leaders of the ruling alliance kicked off a while ago at the official residence of the Prime Minister in Baluwatar.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s chief personal secretary Bhanu Deuba said that top leaders of the ruling parties are present at the meeting.

It is said that top leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC), CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist) and Rastriya Janamorcha are attending the meeting to hold discussions on formation of a new government and contemporary political situation.

The President has given a weeklong time for the political parties to form the new government after the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and Province Assembly took place on November 20. The deadline given by the President is ending at 5:00 pm on Sunday (December 25).
