Raghuganga Gaonpalika-4 Dagnam of Myagdi district has been in darkness for the past three days due to power outage in due to hailstorm on Saturday. According to local Gun Pun, the village has been in darkness for the past three days after hailstorm damaged the electricity pole in Dagnam.

The repair work has been complicated due to the damage to the power poles and lines, he says. For the past three days, the village has been struggling to charge mobile phones, lighting lamps, and preparing students for the upcoming school level examinations including SEE.

Similarly, there is shortage of drinking water in Beni-2 Bagarphant after the flood washed away the source and pipeline of drinking water. Extreme levels of scarcity of drinking water has hit 208 households in Maruwa, Upallo Khanna and Bankhe Chaharo districts after floods and pipelines were destroyed by floods. Tek Bahadur Karki of Beni-2 Bagarphant said that the residents were forced to boil the murky water of wells and Myagdi rivers due to lack of water in 28 streams in the village. There are 214 households in the area.

In 2069 BS, water was brought from Kopre river on the border of Beni-3 Bhakimli and Beni-2 Jamarukkot and was distributed in 28 streams of Bagarphat. The Bagarphant Drinking Water and Sanitation Project was completed at a cost of Rs. 5.4 million and provided drinking water facility to the village.

According to Krishna Bahadur Karki, Chairman of the Bagarphant Drinking Water Consumers Committee, there will be a problem of drinking water for some time as the pipeline is being repaired.  Although there are more than half a dozen water sources including Apre, Udaino, Mulchhahari and Koprezharna at the bottom of Myagdi river and Siran at the bottom of the village, the residents have been facing drinking water problem for years due to inability to manage those water sources.
