Snowfall affects electricity distribution in Jumla

Heavy snowfall has been reported in Jumla and Upper Karnali districts since last Thursday night. The residents of Jumla have been forced to live in darkness due to the snowfall. The power transmission line has been blocked due to snow.

A local Karna Budha said that the residents of Jumla were forced to live in darkness as the snowfall damaged the poles and wires in some places. The number of customers using electricity has recently increased after reaching the power transmission line.

Around 3,500 customers of Khalanga have been affected after the power outage. According to Nepal Electricity Authority Jumla Distribution Center Chief Naresh Rawal, the power supply has been disrupted due to damage to electricity poles and wires due to continuous snowfall.

Chief of the office, Rawal, said that they have started deploying staff in the affected areas after the weather cleared.
