Chairperson of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Rajendra Lingden, has said the State should protect all castes and communities.
At a programme organised on the occasion of the 29th International Day of World Indigenous People in Kathmandu, Chairman Lingden mentioned that it was the responsibility of the government to protect all caste, languages, religions and cultures equally. He further viewed, "There is also a community of minorities in the country. Such a community may be the victim of cultural encroachment at any time."
According to him, religious conversion is growing rapidly recently. So the State should protect all communities equally. Saying the RPP was also in favour of protecting all diversities, the RPP Chairman mentioned that the RPP regards all equally.
Also the former Deputy Prime Minister, Lingden shared that his party would protect all castes, languages, religions and cultures if it gets an opportunity to join the government.
Similarly, former Chairperson of the party and lawmaker Pashupati Shumsher Rana expressed that he was always in favour of indigenous nationalities. Stating that there was a big sphere of indigenous nationalities in the country's politics, Rana expressed happiness over the success of indigenous nationalities in reaching significant positions in the country.
The programme was chaired by Chief of RPP Indigenous Nationalities Department, Deepak Kumar Rai.
