Two persons were injured in separate incidents of tiger attack in Chitwan district on Friday. Rajesh Waiba, 43, of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-24 was hurt when a tiger straying at a local Hariyali community forest near Chitwan National Park attacked him, local people said. The wild cat bounced on Waiba when he along with Krishna Bahadur Lama, a local, went to the area to view the Rapti River, said the police.
Waiba, who sustained chest and shoulder injuries, was receiving treatment at Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur.
Similarly, Indra Bahadur Thing (Waiba), 43, of Rapti Municipality-1 was injured when a tiger attacked him. Injured Thing was being treated at Bharatpur Hospital, said the police.
A team of CNP comprising technicians entrapped and caught the tiger that attacked Thing. The team had undertaken tranquillizing darts from near a bush in the settlement on Friday itself, CNP information officer, Ganesh Prasad Tiwari shared. The wild beast would be kept in CNP Sauraha Sector, he added.
Fifteen people have so far lost their lives in tiger attack at CNP and buffer zone area in the past 11 months, according to available data.
