Police arrested two persons with drugs at Mechi Bridge in Mechinagar Municipality-6 on Monday evening. A police team deployed from the Drug Control Bureau, Kankadvitta and Area Police Office, Kankadvitta recovered the drugs from Pradip Alemgar, 31, of Mechinagar-10 and Prashant Rajbanshi, 20, of Mechinagar-8.
Police recovered 13 grams of a narcotic substance resembling grey heroin, two mobile phones and Rs 3,000 in cash from them. He was arrested with drugs and is being kept at the Area Police Office, Kakadvitta for further investigation.
Two persons have been arrested with drugs including brown sugar from Dhuliabit in Surkhet Birendranagar Municipality-11, the capital of Karnali.
The arrested are Sakil Mohammad, 30, of Banke in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolis-5 and Manu Khan, 24, of the same ward, said Hira Bahadur Pandey, spokesperson of Karnali State Police Office, Surkhet.
A joint police team deployed by the District Police Office, Surkhet and Karnali State Police Office Bureau arrested the suspects after finding brown sugar and nitrovet (drugs) on a motorcycle heading towards Surkhet from Nepalgunj today.
A spokesman for Pandey said that seven tablets of nitrovet, a brown sugar-like substance wrapped in two bags of plastic, were recovered from the motorcyclist Mohammad and Khan on the back of the same motorcycle. Surkhet police said that they have started further investigation into the incident.
