Two people were killed when a passenger bus met with an accident in the morning near Churiamai temple in Hetauda sub-metropolitan city of Makwanpur district under East-West highway.
The deceased are 60-year-old Dilli Bahadur Darzi who lives near Damak-5 Model Campus in Jhapa and 51-year-old Kalpana Rajwanshi of Morang Belbari Municipality-8, district police said. Makwanpur office spokesperson Tek Bahadur Karki informed.
Spokesperson Karki said that 36 other passengers were injured in the same accident. The preliminary investigation of the police revealed that the night bus No. 7K 2032, which was going from Kathmandu to Jhapa, went out of control and fell into the drain.
According to the police, out of 36 people injured in the accident, 30 people have been 'discharged' after treatment and two people have been 'referred' to Kathmandu and three people to Bharatpur for further treatment. One injured person is being treated at Sancho Hospital in Hetauda.
