Chairman of CPN UML, KP Sharma Oli, has said science and technology must be utilized for the development of country.
Addressing an interaction on 'Current Status and Challenges of Science and Technology' organized by the party at its headquarters, Chyasal, Lalitpur on Monday, Chairman Oli argued that country would not see development if science and technology were ignored. He however said Nepal has realized the need of science.
Perception may vary whether science is to achieve or to be utilized, he said, adding that science tells the rule and facts that nature has.
According to him, there was a pause on knowledge gain in the country, which is no more now. "We have difficulties, but there are a lot to do," he admitted. Oli further viewed research and study were ignored, thereby belittling development activities.
Chairman Oli also asserted that Nepalis have the knack to garner knowledge on anything new quickly.
On a different note, he wondered why goats were being imported while arguing that Nepal was self-reliant on meat production.
