The signatures submitted for the appointment of Chief Minister in Koshi Province has been verified. In the presence of Chief of Province Parshuram Khapung, the verification work has been completed at the provincial chief's office.
Kedar Karki, a member of the Koshi Provincial Assembly of Nepali Congress, submitted a letter signed by 47 members of the Provincial Assembly, claiming the post of Chief Minister to the office of the Provincial Head. The claim was made by Article 168 of the Constitution of Nepal.
Similarly, CPN (Maoist Center) parliamentary party leader Indra Bahadur Angbo had also submitted a similar claim with the signatures of 47 members. However, leader Angbo was not present this morning for verification of the signatures.
Meanwhile, the signatures of 39 Provincial Assembly members of CPN (UML) and eight of Congress have been verified.
Along with Leader Karki, Nepali Congress PA members Indira Thapa, Shamsher Rai, Leela Kumari Rai, Govinda Giri, Sunita Kumari Gurung, Ram Kumar Khatri and Man Bahadur Limbu were present in the office of the province chief to verify their signatures in person. The signatures of 39 PA members of the UML were also verified.
