A woman was beaten to death in Kati, Dakneshwari Municipality-8 of Saptari. The deceased has been identified as Jiradevi Mandal, 55, of Kati, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhav Prasad Kafle. She was beaten to death by Rajesh Sharma and Ganesh Sharma of the same place.
A dispute broke when a child, who is a relative of Rajesh and Ganesh was hit by Manoj Mandal's bicycle. Manoj Mandal, who is a local was coming home with food on his bicycle. During the same dispute, Rajesh and other people of the village along with Ganesh started beating Manoj. Jeera Devi's daughter-in-law Amridevi Mandal informed that Jiradevi died due to their beating while saving her son.
The body of the deceased has been sent to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj for autopsy. According to the District Police Office, the persons involved in the beating have absconded, and police are searching for them.
