Backward people will be prioritized: Chief Neupane

Vaikuntha Neupane, the newly elected mayor of Tanahu's Beas Municipality, has said that the work left incomplete in the municipality will be finished during his tenure. He also promised that the backward classes will be brought into the mainstream of development. After taking oath with Chief Election Officer Harish Chandra Dhungana today, Neupane said that the main focus would be on fulfilling the plans unfinished in the previous tenure.

Neupane, who was elected as the mayor for the second term, expressed his commitment to complete the important projects started in the previous term including integrated development and periodical plan. Mayor Neupane said that the development campaign would be carried out by giving priority to the backward classes and communities in the area. Neupane announced that Beas municipality will be made a Dalit-friendly municipality. Stating that they will work in accordance with the constitution and the law, Neupane said that they are committed to fulfilling the aspirations of the city dwellers within the limit of their resources.

Chief Election Officer Dhungana said that transparency and accountability at the local level should be the first priority of the people's representatives. Chief Election Officer Dhungana distributed certificates to Mayor Neupane, Deputy Mayor Indira Darai, Chairpersons and members of 14 wards. Mayor Neupane is scheduled to visit the Beas Municipal Office today. Immediately, Neupane will administer the oath of office to the ward chairman and members, including the deputy chief.
