Coalition candidate Singh leads in Birgunj

According to the latest tally of Birgunj Metropolitan City of Parsa, the only metropolis of Madhesh Pradesh, the candidate of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Rajeshman Singh from the five-party alliance has taken the lead by 18,758 votes over his nearest rival.

Coalition candidate Singh (election symbol umbrella) has continued his lead with 38,437 votes while CPN (UML) candidate Vijay Kumar Sarawgi is in competition with him with 19,679 votes. So far 77,557 votes have been counted.

The counting of votes has been completed in only 16 wards of the metropolis so far and the results of other wards are yet to come. Singh has become the candidate from the alliance between the Nepali Congress, the CPN (Maoist Center, the CPN (Unified Socialist) and the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP)).
