KATHMANDU: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court (SC) against the decision of the Tulsipur bench of the Butwal High Court to remand Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane to custody in connection with the cooperative fraud case.

On Friday, RSP co-spokesperson Pratibha Rawal informed that Rabi’s wife Nikita Poudel filed the writ petition at the court.

On April 22, a joint bench of Justices Ramesh Dhakal and Sweekriti Parajuli had issued an order to send Rabi to detention, overturning the Rupandehi District Court order.

The RSP has approached the Supreme Court against the order. Earlier, the Rupandehi District Court had released Ravi on bail of Rs 10 million in the Butwal Supreme Cooperative Fraud and Organized Crime case.
