CPN (Maoist Center) Karnali State Chairperson Bimla KC has claimed that the UCPN (M) has brought an arrangement to bring women as the head of state of the country.
Speaking at an interaction program on 'Role of Professors, Teachers, Staff and Intellectuals in Building Local Government for Socialist-Oriented Prosperity' organized by the Maoist Central Karnali Pradesh Committee today, she said that the female president was an achievement of the Maoist revolution. She claimed that the 10-year armed war of the Maoists had brought the oppressed, exploited castes, genders, classes, and religions in the society to the level of taking the reins of the state.
"Yesterday, it was not easy for a single woman to live in a society, but today, a woman from the same society is playing the role of the head of state in the highest position in the country," said Chairman KC. "Who took the lead in bringing this law? Didn't the Maoists play a role in building an egalitarian society with social justice by ending caste, social and gender discrimination? The regressive forces that have controlled the country have not tolerated this. The defeated people should do it with their votes", she said.
She claimed that the Maoists had become the voice of the state to bring 33 percent rights to women and bring Dalits, Janajatis, oppressed, marginalized, and minorities into the mainstream of the state. He said that the establishment of a democratic republican system representing all castes, regions, and genders at every policy level and the decisive role of the state today was both an achievement and a success of the Maoist war.
Central Committee Secretary Dhanjit Shahi said that the main task now was to institutionalize the achievements of the Maoist revolution. The interaction program was attended by professors, teachers, staff working in various fields, and intellectuals.
