The CPN UML has invited all senior leaders including Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal for the Central Committee meeting. The meeting will be held at 11 am on Friday.
This is the first occasion that a meeting of the Central Committee members has been called after the organising committee of the party’s 10th general convention was dismantled. Prior to this, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also chairperson of CPN UML, had not invited leaders of the Nepal faction for meetings besides a few ones.
According to Sher Bahadur Gurung, Secretary of the party’s central office, has mentioned that letters have been forwarded to all concerned leaders inviting them for the Central Committee meeting. Previously, PM Oli had mentioned that with the termination of the organising committee of the general convention the disciplinary action that had been initiated against 11 party members including Nepal and Khanal had become null and void.
