Deuba elected as Congress parliamentary leader

Sher Bahadur Deuba has been elected as the leader of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party. Deuba was elected as the leader of the party after defeating General Minister Gagan Thapa by a margin of 39 votes.

Leader Bir Bahadur Balayar informed that Deuba got 64 votes while Gagan got 25 votes.

All 89 MPs voted in the election. Member of Parliament Maya Rai cast her vote in the Nepali Congress parliamentary party election from the hospital. She has been admitted to Om Hospital after giving birth.
