Eighth session of Madhes Provincial Assembly ends

The eighth session of the Madhes Provincial Assembly has come to an end. On the recommendation of the Madhes state government, state chief Harishankar Mishra concluded the eighth session of the state assembly from 12 noon tonight.

In the second sitting of the state assembly held today, Speaker Saroj Kumar Yadav read out a letter from the state chief Mishra regarding the end of the convention. According to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, Mishra has ended the eighth session of the Provincial Assembly in accordance with Article 183, Clause 2 of the Constitution of Nepal.

Twenty sittings of the state assembly have been held under the eighth session of the state assembly which started on November 13. The eighth convention, which lasted for 120 days, has decided the name of the state 'Madhes' and the capital Janakpurdham. Similarly, four bills introduced by the state government have been passed, said Ranjit Kumar Yadav, secretary of the state assembly secretariat. During that period, state chief Mishra ratified a bill.

Meanwhile, today's meeting of the state assembly has passed a bill to replace the Agriculture University Ordinance and a bill to replace the Technical University Ordinance presented by the state government.
