Foreign Minister Dr. Narayan Khadka, who is in Colombo, Sri Lanka to attend the 18th Ministerial Meeting of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multisectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), has been engaged in bilateral talks since this morning.
This morning, he had a meeting with his Indian counterpart, Subramaniam Jayashankar, and in the afternoon, the Foreign Ministers of Bangladesh and Thailand met separately to discuss various issues of bilateral and multilateral interest, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Minister Khadka discussed trade, investment, and tourism promotion during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Don Pramudinai and Foreign Minister of Bangladesh AK Abdul Moman.
Meanwhile, Minister Khadka, while addressing the ministerial meeting, emphasized renewable resolve, collective commitment, and concrete action for the revival of BIMSTEC. He said that new avenues should be paved in line with the current challenges to make the organization dynamic.
