Independent candidate Lalbir Chaudhary was elected the House of Representatives member from Bardiya 2. He garnered 26,520 votes while his closest contender CPN (Maoist Center)'s Suresh Pantha from the ruling alliance 26,384. Out of the total 92,199 votes cast, 5,387 were invalid, said the election office, Bardiya.
